Darton Super School

At last! After years of consultation and planning, the £28 million Darton Super School (or Advanced Learning Centre) is now under construction. The new school building will be built at the far side of the existing site and open in February 2011. Additionally in September 2011 Darton will become an 11 - 19 school, with post-16 students (or 'Sixth Form').

This is tremendous news. Of course, the mark of an outstanding school is down to the quality of the teachers and other staff. You'll be aware of the progress the school has made in that direction over the last year or so. However, there is no doubt that we have been constrained by our current buildings & facilities. Well no more! By the middle of next academic year (2010-2011), we will have superb learning, sports & community facilities.

2008-2009 was a real year of improvement for Darton High School. Now we are confidently expecting the best ever GCSE results this August (2010). We're fully staffed with high quality teachers for September. And now we hear that we'll have the buildings to match. Super School indeed!

Keep checking the New School Build section for updates on this exciting project.

Welcome To Darton High School

At Darton High School students are encouraged to work hard within a caring and supportive environment. We have high expectations of students and believe that only if they constantly seek to improve will they reach their full potential.

Our staff are dedicated to providing the right level of care and commitment to enable all students to achieve success.

We believe that right at the heart of the education process are a number of important partnerships. We understand that the links between the school and the home are vital and we have a home school agreement as a focus for this partnership. We get to know students and parents as individuals and provide guidance designed to achieve the very best of our young people. The school also plays a key role within the local community. Many groups use our facilities and we actively encourage the development of this partnership.

There are many different aspects of educational success, and as a school we support not only those who are capable of academic excellence, but all students helping them to achieve their potential in a variety of areas.

If you would like to make an appointment to visit us - we can assure you of a warm welcome
