Gatty's Tale Book Cover

"This book had me gripped from beginning to end; I was carried along with the twists and turns of what is such a well told story. The plot flows effortlessly and the book is so easy to read; yet the language used is both rich and powerful. This is one of those books that you finish with a smile and know that you have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The story is of an ex-field worker in medieval times who sets off for the Holy Land on a pilgrimage with her mistress. Their travels through England and the rest of Europe to get to Jerusalem are fraught with dangers and full of adventures. The book is not without its tragedies, but also has some surprises that bring a smile to your face. Gatty is feisty, caring and resourceful. She is easy to identify with and because the book is so well written you soon come feel her happiness and pain as the story unfolds.

This book should be essential reading for any aspiring author as its use of language, tightly woven plot and development of characters is virtually flawless."

"This is an adventure with a capital 'A'!

The main character may be a girl, but don't let that put you off boys - it's a terrific read!

The story is an exciting tale that shares with you all the emotions you can imagine that the characters in the book go through during a life-changing journey and gives both realistic and fascinating insights into every day life in medieval times.

It's an absorbing, well written read."
