Crusade

"An interesting book. It had a good storyline with a twist to it. I finished it in a day."

"This book has rather a novel storyline that makes a good book. I enjoyed reading it particularly the author's ability to capture how humans really feel. However, there were some faults. The story line, though novel, is not consistent. This makes it difficult to grasp hold of what the story is about. Also the characters' personalities fluctuated quite a bit throughout the book, which I think cannot possibly be an asset. I believe that it is very hard to get an idea of what will happen next in the book. And finally I would like to point out that this is meant to be a version of the old King Arthur legend. This is a fiction book so I can't expect it to be too close to the legend yet I think if you will have the same characters you shouldn't make it so very different.
I really liked this book and I would recommend it to my friends."

"Here Lies Arthur can be enjoyed in two different ways. In this novel Philip Reeve adds his own slant on the legend of King Arthur. At one level, if you know nothing about Arthur this is a fantastic story in its own right. It weaves a tale of intrigue, adventure, loyalty, betrayal, love and, ultimately, self discovery. However, if you know anything about the Arthurian legend then this book challenges everything you thought you knew and draws you in from the start. At every turn you are challenged to link the "old" legend with this new retelling. I was spellbound to the end.
The story is well told, using short chapters to draw you into the tale. Within a few pages of starting the book you are part of the action, wanting to discover what happens next. As the story develops you think you know what will happen next, only to be surprised by Philip Reeve. By the end of the book you are desperate to know how it will end.
Overall, a super read."
