GCSE Art

This course involves working in Art and design on projects which are set by the teachers. There will be two or three projects which will increase the pupils knowledge of artists and designers whilst building on the students drawing skills, use of media and use of Adobe Photoshop. They will have a choice of mediums to use including textiles, drawing and painting, graphics, and three dimensional work.

Pupils will:

• Draw using a wide variety of media, using and investigating different qualities of media
• Learn about artist styles and look at modern work with an artist in residence
• Closely analyse art work and write in detail about the work
• Develop an idea and use media and annotations to show a wide variety of solutions to a design project
• Produce a final piece and link it to artistic work
