Business Studies
Business education explains how certain parts of the British economy work. The GCSE course throws a spotlight upon things such as business organisation, management and control, finance and marketing.
The majority of employed people in this country work in business. A growing number of people are self employed and run their own business. Since the 1980s many individuals in this country have become involved in the control of large business through share ownership.
Business education can therefore give you a knowledge and understanding of the business world and prepare you for life and work in an ever changing industrial society.
At Darton, there are two courses available for students to choose for Key Stage 4. The first is a standard Business Studies course that results in a single GCSE. The second option is a vocational course in Applied Business Studies which results in two GCSE's.
