General Skills in Dance Technique
- To give the pupils a greater understanding of dance as an art form
- To introduce the basic performance skills and expectations
- To briefly introduce all three strands in dance
- To encourage a greater understanding of rhythm and timing and the importance
of musicality when dancing
- To increase the pupils' awareness of the importance of accuracy when learning a
technical study

- Pathway and Direction
- Level change
- Mirror, copy, complement and contrast design
- To increase the pupils' ability to realise what is good and bad in performance
and begin to encourage the pupils to analyse their personal performance
